About trees

We all love to look at successful people and think: How did they get there?
I can assure you it mostly didn’t happen overnight. These people put in effort, lots of it! So do you. You’ll never know if this effort you put into right now will pay back. No one of us can foretell the future. I can’t and it looks damn scary, doesn’t it? I don’t know if the effort I put in now, will ever pay back. It could take a few weeks, but also many years.
But the most important thing: If I give up now, I’ll never know!

I like to keep it with a song I heard a million times as a kid:
“How high will the sycamore grow? If you cut it down, then you’ll never know”. (Yes, it’s from a Disney movie but it transports a great message!)

If Steve Jobs (or name any other successful person) had given up just because he didn’t know if all of his effort ever pays out, he wouldn’t have went so far. It could also be a dead end but if you stop now, you’ll never know! We all regret decisions we made in the past, but don’t we more regret the things we didn’t do?

What do trees need in order to grow? Water!

Remember it? The cold water your parents shoved you in as a kid to grow and be more independent? It’s damn scary, deep and fucking cold but it’s necessary and the best thing: It’s still there!
Every single time we have to do something that takes us out of our comfort zone and make us grow. It’s cold, scary and deep but the longer you are in it, the more comfortable and warm it’ll get. Every day people jump in there and do things that make them uncomfortable but they just get over it and grow, learn in order to be more successful.

Don’t chop down your own trees or you’ll never figure out how high you can grow!
